At Open Space Early Learning Center, we encourage the development of the whole child by creating a stimulating and nurturing environment, by providing materials that encourages the child to learn, play, discover and explore.

Our program is influenced by the theory of Lev Vygotsky. Vygotsky believed that children used play to make sense of their world. Play provides the opportunity for children to develop social skills and cognitive skills through their social interactions.

Play is important for children, it is a “means by which they can be active explorers of their environment, active creators of new experiences, and active participants in their own development”. At Open Space, our program is play-based because we believe that the benefits children gain from play help them develop the cognitive, social and emotional skills they need in order to grow and thrive.
